Range cooker help

I've become overwhelmed by choice.

I do want a range: 100/110mm wide

Black probably

Not sure induction or gas. I do like stir fries and understand hard to get a wok hot on induction.

I also like to roast and bake.

Budget 1000-2000

What range have you got and why should/shouldn't I get it?

I’ve got a Rangemaster Classic...mine is the 90cm one as that was the size of the gap
I chose cream
They do other sizes and colours so worth having a look
Mine has 4 burners plus a 5th one for a wok or larger pan
It’s dual fuel....gas mainly but 2nd, side oven, is fan assisted electric

Rangemaster professional deluxe here, bought from a local electrical retailer who stocked the dark grey as AO and JL only did black or stainless steel.

It looks amazing, so easy to keep clean and I’m so happy with it, we have gas and it has a wok ring which is great for stir fry’s, I wouldn’t change a thing about it!

We were told to avoid SMEG as they were unreliable so we went to the show room and had a play with nobs and dials and settled on the Rangemaster.

Range master classic 90 here too, also duel fuel, I love it that much it moved house with me 😂

Was getting swayed by all the kitchen threads pushing induction hobs. But then my builder reminded me about stir fries.

I also have the rangemaster, The Toledo XT, it’s 110, six burner, ceramic with plate warmer and double rings. I love it, it heats up very quickly, the ovens work very well, and it looks good too. Ours is silver, with the splash back and hood also. I’d thoroughly recommend it.

Another vote for Rangemaster after advice on here.

Argh. I've just bought a smeg induction range

We have a Stoves Sterling 1100 induction range. I love it. I think Rangemaster is very popular, but not necessarily the best.

Don't get the Belling ones - build quality of ours was horrendous, the oven was awful, the hobs were ok. I was glad to leave it behind when we moved. I now have 2 amazing neff ovens and a separate big hob, as a range wouldn't really go in this house.

I have the Rangemaster Nexus. In my last house I had a Falcon which I tried to bring with me but the buyer objected. Sadly. So far so good though I did love the chunkiness of the Falcon. The Nexus has a cool griddle and I used it for pancakes at the weekend. I've now made a cake with it and it was perfect. Especially for the money. I'd looked at Britannia and an Italian brand but they were around £4K. There is a local independent retailer near us who were fab. My research was mostly done on www.rangecookers.co.uk

We've got a smeg and I love it! I was all set to buy a Rangemaster but the Ines in my price range had very plasticky knobs and the doors did not feel substantial. Have had the smeg for 3 years and no problems at all

We have a Rangemaster - 2 gas ovens, 4 rings, griddle and a plate warmer. Absolutely love it, had it over twenty years and its still going strong. We have just had to fix the door catch, but the part was really easy to find on their website.

Our Smeg cooker is over 15 years old (came with the house)! It still works pretty well!

I have a 110cm Smeg induction range and I absolutely love it. The induction works very well and I have no problem with getting it hot enough to stir fry - it's nothing like ceramic/some other type of inductions I've used.

The size of the ovens is more (imo) useable than some of the Rangemaster ones. The ovens are brilliant on mine and ideal for a roast as you can wack one up high for the Yorkshires etc and slow cook in the other.

I wouldn't change mine, in fact I am building my new kitchen around it

We have the 110 smeg range, gas. We love it! I love the look of it, although ours is stainless steel. The price was great also!

Induction job here ... no problem doing stir fry here, mich better heat control than my old gas hob!

Love our Leisure duel fuel range with a wok burner. 5 years old and still love it and problem free.

I inherited a Belling range when I bought my house and I don't have any problems with it, maybe their newer ones aren't as good?

I have 8 gas rings, one grill, two electric ovens and a plate warmer. I would never have anything other than gas rings ever again - I used to have a ceramic hob and there was no control. I've used an induction hob as well and not sure how I feel about them. If you find that the stuff you're cooking on gas hobs is still too hot even when turned down then try a heat diffuser (simmer plate), they're about a fiver.
