Planning application

Call me naive, I am, but when you submit a planning application when should it show on the council website.

We submitted on the 6th of this months and it says it's updated every Friday well I've checked the week ending the 6th and it isn't on that one, nor is it on last weeks one. Should it be or is it just that it hasn't been looked at yet there for not been given a case worker.

I obviously know that it takes between 6-8 for a decision to be made (in our borough) and I'm not expecting it to be done any quicker I just don't get why it isn't showing yet is it something I should ring the architect about or an I just being majorly impatient?

There is a validation period (making sure you have submitted all the right info) before it will show. In theory two weeks but maybe a little longer depending on backlog.

Thank you! I'd always thought that but when I read 'received applications' and the weekly dates I had a mini panic thinking that must mean they haven't received it, panic over.
