Carpets, why is there so much choice!

I have a feeling I’ll be asking a lot of questions over the next few weeks, we are due to move into our new home early next year it’s a new build, a blank canvas.

We are carpeting throughout except the kitchen and the bathrooms and dsd will have different colour for her bedroom.

We have 2 cats and a teen dsd and a husband who ‘forgets’ to take off his shoes. I want something neutral, that feels nice, hardwearing gives a feeling of warmth throughout.

The carpet in our current house is sort of beige but I’m bored of beige and It shows up any sort of stain.

The house for now will be painted white inside so some rooms we’ll keep white I think others we’ll paint a different colour. I don’t fancy different coloured carpets in each room I don’t think.

Suggestions gratefully received for carpet ideas.

I'd consider man-made fibres as they are easier to clean. And a thick underlay so it feels like walking on a cloud.

So much choice. Too much choice.

I looked at carpets for weekends and weekends and got so confused. Eventually went into carpet right with a banging hangover and picked a neutral mottled grey mid-range man made carpet with mid range underlay in about 10 mins.

I can't recommend carpet right but I do like my carpet! Probably would have gone for a slightly better underlay on reflection tho.
