Which size splashback? Width of hob or width of extractor?

As above really, but hood is 70cm and hob is 73cm.

Which width should I order? I know there's only cm in it but I don't want it to look odd.

Am I getting bogged down in the finer detail? Grin

Makes sense to go slightly wider than the hob because of splashes, etc.

Visually, I'd prefer 73 to 70cm. However, as wowfudge says, you need to think about splashes so wider might be more practical.

I'd say match to the extractor width

80 at least. Splashes don't only go vertically from the hob, and the purpose of a splash back is to protect the walls from splashes

Forgot to add that I'm also having tiles rather than bare walls.
