Folkestone

I'm researching options for next year when I think we will selling our family home in zone 4 london and moving our separate ways due to a divorce. I'm looking down the high speed line - ashford/Canterbury and Folkestone and finding a lot of reasonably priced looking property in Folkestone. I'm a tiny bit in love with the seaside.

Has anyone made the move to Folkestone- i work in the City so would intend to travel to London four days a week at least and I could WFH on the fifth day.

I'd be on my own with my daughter who is three year old so I'd need a nursery immediately. Are there any longer opening nurseries in Folkestone (currently my daughter nursery is open 7am - 7pm - something similar would be amazing!) or would I need an au pair?

Finally what is Folkestone like for schools ? My limited google research shows that Sandgate and west end are the place to be. Any advice gratefully received!!!

DH has some work colleagues who commute daily and seem happy enough (based near St Pancras, though). My MIL now lives in Hythe, which is just past Sandgate and they are both really sweet areas.

Hello! Did you move to folkestone and find out about schools?! This is exactly what I'm trying to find out about! 😂

You could also try posting in the education section.
