Home insurance

I am due to complete (all going well) at the end of November. I am moving into my parents as I haven't found (the house I wanted fell through) and will therefore be chain free when I start looking again in the New Year. My home insurance runs out at the October so I will need insurance for a month.

What's the best (and cheapest!) thing to do?

I'd start by phoning your present provider, explaining the situation and asking if you can extend it for a month.

I pay over 10 months so my last payment was in July. I'm not sure whether it's as simple as extending it?

I recently did this and not all insurers offer temporary insurance cover as I discovered. To get round this I simply decided to pay it monthly by DD, that way I can cancel anytime. Think you have to pay a cancellation fee of around £30 though.

Fab! Thanks crimson!
