Taking house off the market after 6 weeks

House has been on the market for 6 weeks and we don't want to sell now. We've some personal stuff going on that means we're not really in a position now to move for another 6 months

I can't see anything in our contract about ending it early only how long we're locked into sole agency (12 weeks).

Anyone taken their house off after such a short period?

We did. There was a sudden family bereavement and we just couldn't face moving.

We'd found a new place and had a full survey on it. We had accepted one of the four offers made on our house.

Fortunately the buyers of ours hadn't had a survey yet so no costs incurred on their part.

Everyone was OK, to our faces at least, about our decision. We intend putting it back on the market early next year.

We had an open day, 13 viewings and four offers. All over the asking price. We were lucky.

We weren't that keen on the agent so will use a different one.

There might be a penalty for taking it off within the 12 weeks but that would be in the contract. So if it's not there it's fine. Just call your estate agent tomorrow and let them know.

We took it off about 3 weeks after the open day.
