Probably been done a hundred times before but.....
We are planning on taking out the wall between the kitchen and dining room (partly or fully).
Who do I contact first: a builder, a structal surveyor or building inspector ( as I know we will need building regs approval)?

Structural surveyor first and make sure they provide calcs for steels.

I'd start with a structural engineer to do the calcs for the steel. Then get a builder who'll sort out regs with the council himself

Unless it's just a diving wall, then straight to the builder.

I meant engineer - not surveyor

Thanks all, the wall is supporting so have contacted a structural engineer and optimistically hoping we get it all done by Christmas Hmm

If you want it by Xmas you'll need to find a builder pronto - ours is booking for bigger jobs (more than a week) for late 2018....
