Bioethanol fire in a fake chimneybreast ADVICE PLEASE?

My Victorian terrace was chopped about in 1976 and the chimney breasts were all removed. I would love a real fire, but it's impossible to put in a flue so I've decided to fake it with a bioethanol fire box inside a fire basket, in a fake fireplace.

I've found a supplier for the fire box and a lovely cast iron fire basket. Thing is, I want to build a fake chimney breast and put hidden storage in the sides for CDs. There will be a cut out hole / recess in the middle to put the fire basket and burner in.

I'm confused about what materials to make this all out of and worried about the flames licking the top of the recess.

Advice please?

I can't advise on distances or anything, but I wanted to pop in to say that you can get fire-resistant board that you can use around logburners. This might be an option, but check with a proper fire company - they will know how to install things safely.
