Barratt new builds

I have never really considered a new build however we have come across a new development which is in a lovely area and the house we like is lovely in terms of space and layout. Bedrooms are actually bedrooms and not shoe boxes passed off.

Has anyone got a Barratt Home? I understand there are lots of horror stories and snagging issues, does anyone own a new build that they love?

Also the upgrades, we intend to price our own upgrades but something I am interested in is their gold kitchen package.

Because it’s fairly new and they have sold most of the 1st phase off plan already we don’t seem to be able to negotiate a good deal, they’re offering to pay stamp duty.

Does anyone have any info or opinions to share?

Lady home was a barratt and they were really good. If we had a snagging issue they were happy to fix it and quickly. The sound proofing was really good and never heard to neighbours. The build quality was actually really good according to a tradesman who came out to do something unrelated to barratt.

We were lucky that they only had 3 units left so we got carpets, stamp duty, solicitor fees, white goods and a furniture pack. I didn't get to choose tiles or kitchen units.
