I have been before. There were lots of building and glazing companies, several garden designers, architects etc. If you're planning a big project it might be worth it.

I have been. It would be helpful to know what your reason for going is.

Agree with JoJo. Lots of suppliers and installers for massive projects. Bit overwhelming for me and OH as we were first time buyers - wanted to look at bathrooms, kitchens etc. Not having a massive project to undertake, I prefer the Grand Designs show, which is more interiors-y.

Both have elements of the big build and elements of the smaller interior stuff, but GD definitely more homely.

Let me know, how it is, I'm considering the Edinburgh one Smile

We are doing a small single storey extension with interior updates of kitchen, bathrooms etc. Have a good builder/PM and architectural plans done so I think the technical components of build will be dealt with by them-I probably want more of the aesthetic components.

Baby now poorly so not going to make it but GD show sounds like a good plan if it coincides with our schedule.

Haven't been to GDL (yet) but from the sounds of it you might find it more useful. IMO the Homebuilding exhibition is more for the initial planning choices which it sounds as though you have got beyond (type of construction, choices of windows/heating etc.). There is some interior design but it's not the main focus.

I went today - I wouldn't bother if I were you as you already have a builder, PM, architect ... Very little in terms of interiors - the bamboo gazebo complete with buddhas and water features was a sight to behold though!
