Kitchen floor tiles

Hi,

We've just started a kitchen extension and I'm starting to think about floor tiles. I wondered if anyone had any recommendations on where stocks a good quality range? Or is a tile a tile and it doesn't really matter where you buy it? Should I be thinking about anything in particular when it comes to floor tiles?

Thanks!

You need to choose your material first - stone (beautiful, but may need resealing), porcelain, or ceramic. Don't forget the vinyls - Amtico, Karndean etc.

If your room is small, you can often get bargains on ebay.

There are lots of cheap tile places, but quality varies wildly so only buy if you have a sample. I have been choosing tiles for an extension, and I drove all the way to Stoke on Trent to have a look through showrooms and factory shops. I found some wonderful kitchen wall tiles really cheap, but to be totally honest, the floor tiles didn't look a patch on Porcelanosa.
