If you put a @ before P.Js name, they get an alert I think.

I love PJ & his/her fountain of knowledge Blush

PJ often recommends Aqualisa showers. My BIL is a gas safe engineer and plumber and he fitted an Aqualisa in his own bathroom.

stillvicarinatutu · 13/09/2017 19:36

we have an aqualisa shower and i love it. combi boiler here.

Aquilisa round mixer.

they do also make bar mixers, but for some reason bar mixers of all brands are cheaper and not as good as round ones.

Aqualisa built their reputation on their special round thermostatic cartridge, which is very good.

I prefer a surface-mounted (exposed) mixer, with chromed pipes, because it is easier to work on when it needs servicing or repair. Many tears are shed by people who have a shower buried in a tiled wall.

Sometimes they have offers on their website, sometimes you can get them below list from retailers.

I suspect that their various price points of round mixers have the same innards, and just fancier knobs. They also do electronic remote control digital showers. Some might think it is needless complexity.

I see that "Which" shows Aqualisa highest brand and Grohe second, but there is only 2% in it. Aqualisa reliability is 2% higher, and Grohe VFM is 1 star higher.

PigletJohn · 13/09/2017 20:22

The range I've used is called Aquavalve.

We really love our Grohe showers. But obviously am not a plumber so don’t really know if there are better options!

PigletJohn · 31/07/2018 16:25

the round-knob one sold as "Aquavalve" has now been replaced by a range called "Colt"

As far as I can see the only difference is the name.
