Installing induction hob and integrated microwave

2 things

  1. Our induction hob from ikea is being installed by the electrician tomorrow. As it's not above an oven it suggests it should have a separator panel. I've only just discovered this as i thought I'd just have a look at the instructions. It appears to be made from foil covered mdf, we have a back panel from a tall unit which was removed (to get the unit over the boiler). Is the separator panel really necessary and could we fashion one from the piece of mdf, it appears that only ikea sell these. Ikea is just over an hour away.
  1. What supports the microwave when installed in a tall unit, above a single oven. There is a shelf which presumably it sits on and when you open the microwave door there's a screw hole on each side. Is it only the shelf and these 2 screws which support the heavy combo microwave?

Thanks people Smile
