HOUSE IN DORKING - CREEPY

Ok so just started looking at this house online and it immediately gave me the creeps...then I got to the last pic and my fears were confirmed! CREEPY CHILD ALERT.

Aww I don't think the last pic with the child is creepy! I think you're all being big very unfair. It's history and just a little boy who lived there give them a break!

Cellar pic on the other hand - wasn't keen on that. Shock I don't think it helps that the estate agents overly 'sharpen' their photos (there's a word for it but I've forgotten it). I think they make all houses look creepy!

FestivalsareNot4me · 06/09/2017 20:31

Oh god I'm so sorry this isn't the house I was thinking of

Tell us about the other one.

PiratePanda · 06/09/2017 22:07

Shudder!

Bluntness100 · 06/09/2017 22:28

It's interesting there is two full bathrooms on the second floor, if you look at the floor plan, as if both bedrooms are effectively en suite. Only one bathroom photographed, I wonder if one of the parents continued to live there and has now passed.

I'm fairly fascinated too now. There is something not quite right, all the rooms have two singles apart from one. I wonder if the owner has lived there since he was seven.

It's like a house in two parts, some unused, empty, unloved and then the living areas and garden clearly cared for.

Quirkydamsel · 06/09/2017 22:31

Not at all creepy I think it is delightful lucky ppl who buy that house

PrincessWonderRabbit · 06/09/2017 22:33

I thought you were being very unreasonable, it was just a bit dated.

Masses of potential for anyone with a decent amount of money to invest. It's a nice house!

Bluntness100 · 06/09/2017 22:51

Actually we all assumed the pic of the boy is the person selling it, but the owner statement gives no inducation of gender,,,,,,and it's not a masculine house,,,,

Movingonuppppp · 06/09/2017 22:56

That child is the one that haunts the house. Maybe that's why they included the pic. That little boy is included with the house...

I think it is a great house with loads of potential. Not keen on cellars in any house.

Orangebird69 · 07/09/2017 16:16

@Bluntness100that house isn't on a very good plot tho - terraced garden and looks very shady

This. And it's only half the square footage. I'd take the old expensive house any day for more square feet and a usable garden.

Is it bad that I just want to know where they got their dining table from?

Wtf?!!!

NinonDeLenclos · 07/09/2017 19:02

Doesn't feel in the slightest bit creepy to me, just in need of total renovation. It's a good house, and the view is great.

Dorking is only 40 mins to Clappers J. That sq footage in my bit of London would be £2.5- 3 million. It's a bargain.

Knock the kitchen out and replace the weird greenhouse with an orangery style extension - would create a big kitchen family room looking out over the garden.

chickaleta · 07/09/2017 19:05

That single bed stuck out in the room gives me the heeby jeebies @IDontBowlOnShabbos

PuffinNose · 07/09/2017 19:12

I'm not sure about it at all. Lovely garden and views and definately needs updating but I bet that cellar has stories and the hallway looks like it belongs in the Timberline Lodge.

I hear ya Anecdoche.

For creepy houses watch Paranormal Witness.

Lowdoorinthewal1 · 07/09/2017 19:27

I think it is creepy. Any one of those bedrooms looks like it could have been trashed by a tricky exorcism and then 'put right'.

Cellar is clearly where the free ghost-child met his untimely end. Do you people watch no horror movies?? Grin

Shock The Creepy Photos have gone !!!!!!!!

Or did you all just imagine the Ghostly Child?
Mwah Ha Ha
