First World Problem (en-suite design)

Extending to give toddler DD an en-suite as we're here for the long term & that extension will adjoin our new bathroom so makes sense to do it all now.

Any design ideas or advice please as to how to get it to work for her now yet will still be perfectly functional in 10 years time??

Anything I need to consider or bear in mind?

Think longer term - she'll be a toddler for a short time. Storage, decent mirror, digital thermostatic shower maybe so you can set the temperature at a safe level. Not just a fixed shower head - makes hair washing and cleaning easier if there's a hand held shower spray.

I'd probably do a shower over bath and a curtain (not a glass screen). Perhaps some display/storage for bath toys. You could also make sure the mirror is a bit lower down or pointing so that she can see herself.

Ooooh fab!

Thankyou both - great ideas. Smile

Mirror inset into tiles, not screwed on top - no nasty corners for her to catch her arms on as she grows up.

Good lighting for making-up and spot-squeezing in 10y time! Lights at the sides of mirrors are better for this than lights across the top. But the lights should be recessed or hidden, so she can't touch them it looks neater and more streamlined.

Mixer tap on basin.

Agree with everything else listed so far.

Aha, hadn't thought of the mirror either, good point. Thankyou.

Hadn't occurred to me about taps, DH I think would have gone for them automatically.

Haha to spot-squeezing!! Hadn't thought of that as luckily I had flawless skin but my best friend suffered in agony with acne Sad
