Hello all,

I inherited my parents house with my sister last year, we both live in it and are in the process of selling it and buying separately.

We have accepted an offer on our house, but have only just sent paperwork and no idea when exchange will be.

I have been assessed for a mortgage with London and Country and given an agreement in principle, based on cash from the sale.

My question is : am I now in a position to make offers on a new house? The way I see it my own purchase will be dependent on this house sale going through, but I will move out of mine and my sister's house regardless of whether a purchase goes through in time. I'll stay with my partner in this instance.

Am I right about this? Or do I have to wait longer before making offers/ will making an offer affect the dates for this sale in anyway?

Sorry I have nobody else to ask.

Thanks a lot!

Hi. Since you have an accepted offer on your current property and have an agreement-in-principle agreement from your mortgage provider, then yes, I would say you are free to go ahead and make offers on a new house. Smile

Youve been very restrained, a lot of people make offers when they're in no position to! Enjoy house hunting.
