I'm upcycling a bed side table but I don't know what paint to you. Any ideas please!

Not so much a what to paint it with, as a maybe what not to...

I'm not sure if chalk paint is still popular, but we have a chest of drawers painted it in from a couple of years ago, (that has been waxed for 'enhanced durability') - it is hideously impractical and marks really easily, the wax doesn't seem to make a difference to it's durability. It looks terrible now and will be repainted when both my children have started primary school and I have some time!

Sorry I can't be more helpful!

Satinwood or eggshell will give you a durable finish with a slight sheen. If it is bare wood or has been previously varnished or waxed it'll need a good primer first - Zinsser primers are really good.
