Does anyone know what this type of carpet is called?

Looks like pompoms - and I know pompom rugs are a thing - but this is a fitted carpet. 1970s, I think?

It looks like it would feel SO lovely underfoot.

Can anyone suggest what I should google to find something similar?

Thanks!

Looks like a sculptured carpet to me.

Agree with wowfudge. Try an old-school local independent carpet shop
You might strike lucky and an older member of staff can point you in the right direction as to the manufacturer. There are firms in London (from memory Wandsworth bridge road area) that sell this sort of carpet but the prices are eye-watering...

planninf to I to my local old-school carpet shop tomorrow to see if they can advise. It's been shut for the bank holiday weekend...
