How much vaguely to turn a window into French doors?

Just that really.
We are thinking if doing this to our living room window.
Has anyone done this? What do I need to know?

We sourced the door for £800 and builder charged another £800 (1.5 days labour). Made good, but we redecorated the wall. Door exactly the same width as the former window.

Oh that sounds not so bad then.
The door would be the same width as the window so I did hope it would be as easy as it is in my head.

Think we paid about £600 for the door to fit the window width of about 4ft across.

DH is handy around the house but has never done a job like this before. He watched YouTube for tips, hired a circular saw for cutting the bricks and got stuck in. He was a bit nervous about it, he had visions of sleeping in the living room all night if he couldn't do it!
As it turned out, he did a decent job of it and he thought it wasn't nearly as difficult as he thought it was going to be.
Saved us a fair amount as well!
🙂
