Sold house abroad - but no money!

I'm worried my DM has been duped by dodgy solicitors. She sold her apartment in Cyprus and the new owners are in but she still hasn't received a penny. The solicitors are slow to reply and recently took a long holiday without telling anyone so there was no contact this month at all. Does anyone know what my mother can do?

Find a reputable lawyer in Cyprus to consult?

Ask on some foreign property owners' forum - there might be one just for Cyprus if you ask Google.

if she goes on britishexpats.com/ in the chats section covering Cyprus they have people living all over who are knowledgeable in what happens locally to them.

Obviously you need to chase as advice above. But I wouldnt worry too much about them being absent/closed all month, that does seem to be very much the norm in Cyprus during August.
