Mixer taps plumbed wrong way around ...

Plumbing advice please.. I have an ensuite mixer shower which was plumbed hot and cold the wrong way around before I moved in. I don't usually use it for this reason however I have a house full of guests this weekend and would like to. The thermostat on it seems to be working fine currently but I'm told the plumbing mix up means the temp valve could fail and I'm worried about scalding.. is this true? All the workings are concealed behind tiles so I can't check or change anything quickly. The boiler is electric. Thanks for any replies!

Warn your guests. Then get it fixed?

There might be an easy(ish) fix if the pipes go down to a bath so can be re-routed under there. Or if they go up into the loft. Otherwise it might be cheaper to change the shower fitting rather than re-route pipes.

Thanks! In the long term I'm hoping to replace the whole ensuite... that's why I haven't fixed it. So would you let guests use it as a one-off? Sorry if that's a stupid question!

I would. But my boiler is set so it won't scald anyway
