We have tado which is a similar app-controlled system, it's great. You can pop the heating on without getting out of bed, if you go out for the day and forget to switch it off you can do it remotely, if it gets chilly you can pop the heating on for when you get back. We really like it.

I want to get it too. However I have heard on You and Yours that if you buy through British Gas and then change supplier, there is a problem. You need to apparently. They suggested you buy direct from Hive. I am sure others will know more.

We bought our hive from Amazon on a Black Friday deal. It's brilliant. I love it!

We have HIVE and I love it. We had it in our old house and it was one of the few things we got done straight away when we moved.

We have it for heating and hot water, then also have plugs which control various lights on timers throughout the house (brilliant for security when we are away) and we also have some of the colour change and dimming light bulbs (my husband loves a gadget!)

It is amazing you can do everything from your phone even when you're not at home.

Do you need to be with Briish Gas? I thought you didn't.

We haven't got Hive we have another gadget when we had a new boiler last month. It can be set to turn on when it catches you on the GPS getting near home. Will be looking forward to trying that out on our return from hols at the end of October.

We have Hive and had it installed by BG 2 years ago. I wouldn't say it has particularly saved us money however we can now keep the house at a constant temperature rather than some rooms being freezing. Each radiator still has its own thermostat but this works for us.

We put a Nest in when we got our new boiler. Is fab. I like that i can switch it on/off when im out or coming home unexpectedly.

I also like the little email you get each month saying how many hours you've used

Yes and for lighting. I have used it for three years and it is utterly fantastic. When you lie in bed and then you can decide to pop the heating on before you get up, or turn it on earlier from work!
Managing the lights is brilliant too, highly recommend it HIve or any similar systems.
