Does anyone commute from Bath to London?

Thinking of making the move at last!

My husband used to do this. It was so awful we relocated to Yorkshire! It took him five hours a day (return journey), door to door, never again. Why are you considering it?

I tried it after we moved to bath from London for DH job. The journey was horrendous and cost £100/day. I really wouldn't recommend it. If you work right next to Paddington, can live right by bath spa station, have enough money for the train and don't have to go in every day it might be ok. Otherwise, just no!

Used to live on the same line but closer and there's no way I would consider it unless as Bunloaf put it, you can meet this requirements.

That is crazy... the train line is one of the most expensive and it is a long journey!

The commute from Bath to London is horrific. There's no way I'd be doing that.

Why Bath specifically? Do you have family there? My brother lives in Bath and the traffic is horrendous,the place is constantly snarled up, and parking is a total pig. Plus property prices are not far off those of London. I can't think of a more stressful commute, and a very expensive one too.
