New shower pump not improving shower pressure

I have a vented water system (at least I think that is what it is, cold water tanks in loft and green hot water cylinder in airing cupboard).

I've had the family bathroom refitted and a pump put into place as the water pressure to the old shower was not good. I have had a pump in a previous property so I knew what I was signing up to in terms of noise etc.

The work was finished today and I have two problems

  1. The pressure in the family bathroom is no better than it was before. I have proved this by filling at litre container from the family bathroom shower and main bedroom ensuite shower, they both filled in exactly the same time (approx 12 seconds). The ensuite shower is not yet attached to the pump.
  1. When I turn the pump off there is hardly a trickle in the family bathroom. In my old house I could turn off the pump and still get the underlying water pressure to the shower - what has gone wrong here?

I have emailed the project manager but I would like to understand this must before I speak to him on the phone.

Any ideas?
