Architect Building Tender

[Chambordella]

Have planning/ warrant for building an extension. It has been put out to tender by architects. I have looked at the list of approached builders and on Companies House or review sites..I have misgivings. ( volountary strike off, compulsory strike off, numerous previous companies)
What would you do?

Get a personal recommendation if you can, failing that I drove around and looked for similar builds to what are planning and knocked on doors and asked how they were getting on with builder etc. You'd be surprised how many people loved to show off their work and I got invited in for a tour and cup of tea.
