Where to put wireless Hive thermostat?!?!?

Hi All,

I find myself owning a thermostat-controlled central heating system for the first time in 25 years of being a grown-up. It's one of those Hive wireless ones so can go anywhere in the house.

But where should I put it?

The internet seems divided between:

Coldest place in house (i.e. hallway).

OR

The place you spend most time in (i.e. living room).

I don't have a porch, so front door opens into the hallway. I also have thermostatic valves on the radiators. I was thinking I could put it upstairs on an internal wall as I have a big landing (with a small radiator) - it's away from draughts so won't be set off just because I open the front door on a cold day.

What do you think?

Ours is in the room where we spend most of our time.

Ours is in the hallway. No idea if that's the best place though!

Move it around as you need to. My Dad's trick if he wants to hear the house up quickly when it's cold is to put the thermostat outside for a short while.

Move it if you want it hotter/ colder. You will find the best place soon enough (ours is in hall)

We started off with ours in the hall, but soon found the sitting room got too hot, so it's now in there and it's much better like that.

For the reasons RustyBear said, we have ours in sitting room.

Ours is in the hall
That's where the old one was that was fixed to the wall so seemed the best place
