Garage conversions

I'm sure costs will vary but I'm looking for some ballpark figures. Our garage is attached to the house and has electricity in it (double socket and ceiling light). I would want a door knocking though and a window put into the currently complete wall. And then the garage door end bricked up.

Likely cost?

I can't give you a cost but don't bloody do it if you're left with hardly any parking and either have only permit parking on street or remaining available space guaranteeing a MN thread! Seriously, the number of houses for sale we're having to discount because we're not sure if our own car will fit on what's left of the drive and can't see where my parents could park when they visit. I'm buggered in any of those if I ever pass a test.

DH did most of the work himself on ours. materials cost £2000, including double glazed window,
His mate did the electrics just cost price, we paid a mate to knock the door way through but only paid mates rates
£2k was our total spend but that's obviously no labour charge

Don't forget to check with your Local Authority to see if what you plan needs complies with Building Regulations.

Also, check if you need Planning Consent for Change of Use of the garage to become habitable accomodation

We've had recent quotes to convert a single garage sized workshop to building Regs standard. No blocking up as no garage door, but DG windows to front and back then boarding, insulating, couple of rads, decoration Cheapest was £12k (in SW), considering £15k option which I think was better standard.
