It's only 3m by 4m. Also how much did you pay for yours? We are in central London....

We are looking at one slightly smaller (2.5 x 3.5m) I was told 3 weeks. Estimates vary between 20 and 30k. Not London, but not too far out.

Really, so quick? Are you sourcing skylights, windows, etc or are you relying on your builders?

3mX5m 6-8 weeks.

6-8 weeks, £30k inc vat

Bananajam · 10/08/2017 21:29

Our extension is slightly bigger but the builder said 6-8 weeks. We're on our 7th week, delays mean our bifold doors aren't arriving until next week. Tiles aren't done yet, only half the walls are plastered. Roof isn't finished because the chimney for the wood burner hasn't arrived yet.
Don't expect any estimate to be accurate, things happen, work is delayed, our start date was put back by 3 weeks! I don't want to disillusion you but I wish I'd known that it wasn't that straightforward when we started. It's frustrating and disappointing but hopefully will eventually be finished and will look amazing!

Ours is costing just over £40k.

HipsterHunter · 10/08/2017 21:40

Depends on what kind of an extension - like side return so dealing with two party walls and no access so has to be built hand over hand, or do you have a driveway for a skip and a van, side access and building a box off the back that you can access from all sides?

The latter is cheaper...!

Believeitornot · 11/08/2017 12:28

We are going for 6mx3m with one party wall.

It's been quoted about £80k but that includes fitting a new kitchen, replastering plus a new porch etc and landscaping the garden.
We had several quotes and all were similar.

I'd buy an old banger and accidently reverse into thier cars as you reverse off your driveway. Bet they don't park thier again!

Seriously though I would let the business know it is an issue, they can't force thier staff to park in the car park but they will probably have a word with them all.

Oops wrong thread!!

Depends what your builder is like! If he comes one day a week like mine does about 6 months!
