Guttering issues on a semi-detached house..

A pair of semi's, me & my neighbour. As both properties are on the level (3 tiered houses), our gutting runs straight across both at each level. On my side the gutters are clean & clear, on the other half they're 3/4 full of silt/moss. Now, when we have a good storm, my side gets overloaded & I've started to get watermarks internally. The houses being so tall, it's not a job you can tackle from a ladder. I've done mine when I've had scaffolding up to repaint. The other house is the village vicarage & the church doesn't appear interested in doing anything about it. Nothing's happened in over a year of my mentioning it. I really want them to clear out their side. Any ideas?

Pay for it yourself... send them the bill?

When you say the church doesn't appear to be interested, who have you contacted and what have you said? Your insurers may be able to help if the impact is damage to your house.

Gutters can be cleaned from the ground using vacuum machines or long poles - we have a 5m one and various attachments.

We have a similar problem. In the end I paid for a company with the vacuum, pole and attachments to do both gutters and the downpipe that serves both of us but is on their side as they clearly didn't care. It cost £55.
