building regs for boiler

I'm due to exchange in 2 weeks but there's a disagreement over building regs of a boiler fitted in 2013. The vendors solicitor won't provide a copy and my solicitor is saying the mortgage company won't release the money until we have proof it was fitted. Any advice?

What is the issue? That the installation isn't up to current regs or that the vendor won't provide a building regs certificate?

You should have a gas safe certificate from the installer, if you contact your local building control dept at council they may have a record on their system

that the vendor has lost the certificate and won't provide a duplicate - because their solicitor is telling them they dont need it - but yet my solicitor is saying we do. I'll try that vittyscardigan thanks

Contact the Gas Safe register directly and they should be able to issue a duplicate certificate.

fab thank you will do :-)

Failing the certificate being available could a gas safety registered technician inspect it?

If your mortgage company need sight of it of course the vendor needs to provide it. I would be asking has it been properly installed and registered?
