White shelves for children's bedroom

Hi. I know this shouldn't be a problem but where can o buy them from. They are to hold lots of books so don't think floating shelves will take the weight. Also been told that Ikea shelves with brackets aren't great. I content to spend a fortune but would like them to look smart and modern.

I have IKEA shelves and they're pretty good.

Get wood brackets and paint them rather than the cheaper plastic ones.

Thanks kingjoffrey. Will give them a look.

Just been through this. Found an amazing company called shelfbar. Husband just installed them today, they are amazing, so strong. Have no affiliation to them, just a genuine happy customer. Website is www.shelfbar.co.uk, contact there was a very helpful chap called Philip. Good luck.

Thank you dietstarts. Had a look at their website and it looks like just what I need. It looks a bit more work to paint them but for the finish I think it would be worth it. So give them a call tomorrow. Glad you are pleased with yours!

They give you a little pack with all the installation information on what to do regarding finish. Essentially it's an 'idiots guide', so I even understood it!

My husband will paint ours, but it would only be a small job for a handyman to paint if you felt it was too much.

They're lovely. I can't stop looking at ours, can't wait to get all our books up!

I've had a good look at the site and am measuring up how many books we need to go on them before I make a call.
You sound so pleased with yours! Did you have the single shelves or tbe bookshelves with wore on?

Wire not wore!

Oh no to the wire! Think that ruins the look and ours are either side of our chimney breast. You could use bookends and just position the other side right up to the wall?

ouchmyfanjo · 08/08/2017 11:58

Yes that's what I thought. Wire looks a bit odd on pictures but the gallery of their stuff looks really impressive.
Hope the painting goes well!
