Can anyone tell me how much money you need for fee's when buying a house? Like solicitor fee's? Just wondering how much to save on top of deposit. Thanks

Far more than you think!

Solicitor anything from £500 to £750 just to buy. More if it's complicated.
Searches c.£200 +
Land registry c. £135
Stamp duty (assume you've worked this out already)
Moving costs anything from couple of hundred to the skies the limit. Depends on how far and if you need packing, storage etc.

Remember the little things like post redirection.

You need a slush really too, for all the things that happen on moving in or immediately after that you hadn't thought about.

You should have a rough idea of the price you will be paying - most solicitors will give you a quote. If you know roughly where you will be moving to you could get a couple of removal people in to quote as well so you have an idea.

Your might also need an arrangement fee for a mortgage that seems to be around 1k at the moment for decent rate

Survey anything from £300 to £1500 depending on size of property and type of survey.
