So we recently bought our first home. 32, married with 2 DS. It has a small conservatory and it's proper raining outside and I'm sat in here with a cup of tea loving life!!! Grin I know it sounds so silly! But I was so nervous, we viewed it once and then bought it 4 days later! But I'm so happy and will soon needs lots of advice on kitchens and boilers etc. But right now I'm sat with a cup of tea listening to the rain on the roof so happy!!!! GrinGrin

I love that too. We have an extension with glass walls and a roof lantern and I love sitting in the dark with a cup of tea at night when it is raining. The garden is dark and all you can see is the sky and hear the rain.
You sound very happy in your new house. 🙂

We've been in our new home for 4 months now. It's really oldfashioned so I'm looking forward to updating it and choosing new furnishings
But, we have patio doors for the first time. It's like a big moving picture that I can gaze at for hours. I watch the weather change, rainbows, sleet, birds feeding, squirrels , sunshine and blossomfall. It's wonderful plus minidach who is just 6 inches high gets her own view on the world too. So I know what you mean about sitting back, listening to the rain and feeling content. It's a wonderful feeling!

We insulated our conservatory roof, and then clad it to make it warmer, but it's significantly cut out the sound of the rain. I really miss it. Currently lying in bed listening to it from my bedroom window (above conservatory) - absolutely loving it. We also all love being in a tent in the rain (as long as it's waterproof!)

I love listening to the rain because it means I don't have to use the (metered) hosepipe to water the garden. I twitch uncontrollably when I have to have the sprinkler on for hours on end during those dry spells... (although there don't seem to have been very many of those this summer, thankfully)
