I have wire spice racks screwed to the inside of cupboard doors - they have three rows so you can fit plenty in. I have three of them and then a large tuppaware box for packeted spices.

OnePlanOnHouzz · 05/08/2017 22:30

If you have loads - then plan for a drawer pack next to or under hob with a each drawer lined with one of these spice inserts ...

This is mine it works really well - apart from the fact I've got far too much spice jar storage now so keep buying more to fill it!

Just placemarking for tomorrow morning and I'll take a picture

I have a spice drawer (idea from mn) now.. So I decluttered my spices. One for baking are in a baking drawer and rest in a dresser drawer. It works really well.

Zhx3 · 05/08/2017 23:14

I've got three of these in a cupboard:

Lakeland storage caddy

I think they're great! Not attractive, but practical. Not sure if the size they sell now is the same as the size I bought though, was several years ago.

PickyParent · 06/08/2017 00:38

Mine is a display cabinet about £30 on Amazon. Usually used for model cars or similar. Holds loads!

If you're having a new kitchen you could plan for something like Bradley's in a larder/lardertop cupboard. We've just done ours but couldn't have one as the cupboard I wanted it in was too shallow. Will have to resort to the wire racks screwed inside the cupboard doors, which I currently have, but not beautiful. Gutted.

bbpp · 06/08/2017 00:57

We have two shallow but wide and deep boxes that we fill. It vaguely follows that one is spices, and the other dried herbs/garlic/salts. Not fancy though!

BlooBagoo · 06/08/2017 01:11

I have one of these from John Lewis. Some I've found I use more than others so changed them out for ones I use more often, the rest have all been shoved into the pantry in small Ikea spice jars so they're still there if I need them.

Ooh I like that onehouz, I have lots of spices but realistically don't use many of them so need to have a good think what to do ! I like the magnetic strips idea with the Ikea tins too

FrogFairy · 06/08/2017 12:52

Not my storage, but I hope to have something similar when I get my new kitchen.

I have a lazy susan in the cupboard with them all on.

calmanban · 06/08/2017 20:28

No I need to stop looking at threads suggesting things.... now I want to spend a fortune at Lakeland on those caddy things.

Minster2012 · 06/08/2017 20:48

Just done a house renovation and wanted a cupboard for oils & spices under my hob so no oils on worktop, so have this with most used spices then oils underneath & least used extras in racks in larder further away...love it!

I have an old fashioned wooden spice rack. I found something similar on ebay and asked the seller to adjust the measurements slightly to fit my space.

Having tried putting them in drawers and in cupboards I decided the critical things are being able to see the fronts of the jars, not just the lids, and being able to accommodate a few slightly bigger pots for bayleaves etc.

try2hard · 06/08/2017 21:22

Thanks all, I do like the drawers, but also agree that I need to see the front of the jars. Also worried about child proofing - I can just see my toddler getting into the cayenne pepper with disastrous consequences!

Do you have to have special cupboards to have the racks on the inside of the door or do they fit most cupboards?

I've got a couple of magnetic bars fixed to the spare bit of wall by the window. Think they were knife racks from ikea. The spices are in little glass jars with metal lids which stick to the bars. I'll take a picture when I get downstairs.

rattieofcarcassone · 06/08/2017 21:32

I have the same as bella but I hate that I can't see the fronts easily.

gallicgirl · 06/08/2017 22:48

Here it is.

Thanks for the tips. Have just bought some wire racks to go inside cupboard as recommended above! 😊

Agoddessonamountaintop · 07/08/2017 08:19

If you mean the wire racks op, they come in different sizes so just measure and look for one to suit. I got mine from Amazon but they're stocked in lots of places - Homebase used to do them. The lovely wooden ones I think are usually supplied with the kitchen, although I'm sure tou could source them.
