Moving home utilities

I havent moved for years! We are due to complete on 17th August. Can i search now and sign up for cheapest gas/ electric? Or do i have to move in first and take over the existing accounts first?

You can look and sort it now, if you definitely know you will complete on that date. It would be helpful to know who supplies the new property at the minute though so you can properly compare.
