Solicitors Trying to Exchange Today

So, today's the day, when we are aiming to exchange contracts. 4 people in the chain, so fairly short.
I just had to share my excitement, apprehension, exhilaration and what not with some people, so thought of starting the thread.

Is there anyone on the same boat, aiming for today or weekend?

Bloody hell cankles you've had it even worse you poor thing you must have been gutted yet alone the money you wasted. It's so wrong! 😖 what an utter arse to do that and his poor ex wife! We have separated hence the move but fortunately very amicably. We are in the West Midlands and also I had a very small area as my dc are at senior school. I didn't want to disturb their lives anymore than needed and this new house is just perfect for us (or will be as it needs gutting) It's a beautiful 1930s very close to where we live now, 3 great bedrooms, massive west garden. I want to buy it so much yet every obstacle has been put in front of us..!

Just sent a grumpy email to the head of conveyancing at our firm. Our solicitor went off sick last week and we were assigned another one - but he hasn't even picked up our file! They have a signed contract, signed deed, all the searches are back and we've already transferred our deposit and stamp duty. The only thing outstanding is our contract report (can't be that big surely - it's a new build house FFS?).

We need to give notice very soon on our rental and seemingly face a choice between being homeless if it should fall through or losing over £1100 in rent we don't need.

Our property process is so broken!
