Sorry if this has been done to death.

I have just had a quote for Karndean Van Gogh and Lifestyle Colloseum. This is for a 36msq floor. I have been quoted £3,400 for Karndean and £2,900 for Lifestyle. Could anybody please tell me what they paid? Many thanks.

HomeExtender - what's your situation? We have decent floorboards but Looking at at least a grand to get them sanded etc, but the quote has shocked us a bit.

£1400 for wood effect karndean for 12msq

We've had UFH & a screed floor. Have been quoted about £3,600 for 60m2 for Karndean Knight tile - haven't chosen which wood tile yet though.

How much are you being charged for the flooring and how much for the fitting? Without that breakdown, it's difficult to say.

I've only just got the breakdown. For Karndean Van Gogh, I've been quite a 1200 for labour and 2200 for materials.

We've just done done our own floorboards, and they had been sanded at done point in the past and we do attached with wire wool and sugar soap, and and then used osmo to oil them. We have surprisingly straightforward and less than £150 all in.

wowfudge · 07/08/2017 09:53

I'd want a better breakdown - £1200 is for how many days' work by how many people? The materials: how much is the actual LVT costing, how much for ply, how much for screed, how much for adhesive.

We paid a lot less for the prep and fitting but had to shop around. Some of the quotes we got were astronomical and DP just thought they were taking the piss. We paid £28psm for the prep including ply, screed, adhesive and fitting. The flooring was supplied at trade price - we didn't have Karndean - and a lot cheaper than some of the other products we looked at.

Thanks wow. It's a minefield it really is!

I had 11sq metres of Karndean laid in my hallway and paid £650 all in
2 guys took most of a day to prepare and complete
The actual quote I was given was from the owner and was incorrect ..should have been £750 ..but he agreed to the quoted price as it was his mistake
I'm really pleased with the floor and people have commented on how nice it looks but it is expensive
