Is £58 a square metre about right for laying a patio?

This includes the ground work and disposing of any waste (shouldn't be an awful lot). Doesn't include the patio stone itself. It seems high to me but I'm wondering whether I'm being unrealistic?

The company was recommended and we've struggled to get anyone else to come out to quote. Midlands based.

How many square metres are you doing? What is the access like to the garden? Does it include all necessary materials other than the slabs? Does it include VAT?

For a 20 m2 patio you'd be looking at around the £1200 mark, I would think that would be fairly reasonable if they do a proper job - digging out may be a bigger job than you think if it's adjacent to the house for instance.

I've just had a patio done. It is 38sq m and I paid £3500 including vat.

Its a big area since the patio wraps around the house. 100 square metres. Access is very good with no issues with parking/ getting to the garden. It does include everything apart from the slabs. It also includes vat.

It sounds like it might be an ok quote then?
