Having accepted an offer which allowed us to reserve a new-build plot, our chain broke (our buyers buyer pulled out).
Our buyer now has another offer on the table, thus the potential of a completed chain, but the offer is quite a bit less than previously.
We have made a lower offer (based on the lower offer from bottom of the chain) to the developers, who have refused. We had already negotiated various incentives/extras, so didn't really expect them to concede much, but thought they'd talk.
Now we are unsure how to proceed. The market seems tougher now than it was a couple of months ago when we first sold, so realistically the lower offers seem fair. I'm a little surprised the developers can't/won't budge at all given that we are so close in percentage terms. Should we hold firm? Any suggestions/experience from others very welcomed!
