Garden toy recommendations for toddler?

We've just moved to a house with a good-sized garden, from a flat, and now have space for garden toys. DS is almost 2 and has a birthday coming up.

Grandparents want to buy him something "big", like a climbing frame which could be added to, but I have no idea where to start with this!

We've just bought him a fairly cheap slide which can be extended to make it taller along with a little tent from IKEA and a cheap paddling pool.

We'd like him to have a swing (which we know he likes) but it will need a frame as we don't have a suitable tree to attach it to. Also considering a sandpit or a sand and water table. And stuff like trikes and Little Tykes cars! But don't want to fork out for loads of stuff which won't get used.

What would people recommend? Garden is a good size and mostly grass, with a small patio near the house.

Sand&Water table gets my vote!

We just moved to a big garden and have bought our 18 month old a wooden little tikes swing, it seemed as good as the more pricey ones and is very sturdy, we changed the seat to a baby one though as she's not quite ready for a flat seat one yet. Cost about £70 I think.

We also have a water table. Little tikes again! And a second hand little tikes playhouse.

Sand and water table has been a hit here. When we move were making her a mud kitchen as well as she loves them (also saves her 'helping' in the kitchen...)

Second hand Wendy house.

Plastic wheelbarrow - my 5yo still loves his 3 years later.

Sand and water table also really popular here. We have a play house, swing, slide, sandpit and bike always in the garden but the water table is by far and away the most preferred.
