Trimming wooden blinds - easy or not recommended

Online shopping for wood blinds. Made to measure are more expensive naturally. Standard size blinds are cheaper.

In B&q I saw a cherry wood blind that had been trimmed and it looked a mess.

Should I buy made to measure😬 or are they easy enough to trim???

If you can afford it, go for made to measure. We have a couple that we bought off the shelf and cut down. They look just as good as the made to measure ones, but you need lots of patience and a lot more time to install them.

Thanks BigDesk. .II've taken your advice. There wasn't much price difference between made to measure and off shelf in the end.

IKEA used to sell them at a really good price but no more.
