Hi,
We are in the process of moving house and have put an offer in on a four bed house in Chilvers Bank, Baldock. We are selling a two bed house in Watton at Stone. Like Baldock for the schools (have a three year old) and commuting distance to Stevenage - where I work. The house we have put an offer in is an ex LA house, which I don't have a problem with. Just wondered people's thoughts on Baldock and Chilvers Bank in particular?

Love Baldock, for a small place it's got a good vibe. I looked at a property on Chilvers Bank a few years ago, it didn't quite meet our needs and we ended up in the next town along the road. What's the parking like at the new place?

Thanks! The house in Chilvers Bank has off street parking so that's good. We really like Baldock too but some reasons ive had a few niggling doubts about Chilvers bank in the last few days. What was your impression?

I knew someone who lived there and the traffic noise was relentless. I'd also worry about pollution, because it's so close to the motorway.

Ok, the traffic noise didn't seem too bad when we looked round and we've been back a few times but maybe need to go back again. Did they end up moving away because of that then?

Also did they like it apart from the issues you've mentioned below? Sorry for all the questions!! Smile

Yes. They got the house for a good price because of the motorway and moved as soon as they could afford it.

That was a whole ago and I think prices throughout baldock have gone up a lot.

I lived there for 2 years and really didn't like it, for what it's worth. The high street is pretty but the rest felt a bit run down.

Ok, thanks
