Oven won't turn off

I have a Neff oven that will no longer turn off when I turn the control off. Any ideas?

For now I am having to turn it off at the socket.

sounds like the switch is faulty.

unless you are handy at such things, you need an appliance repairer.

Neff is a BSH brand, so you can look up the part no for a new switch with the reference numbers off your oven, which might save time.

Thanks. In the meantime DS had Googled and reckons it could be a broken thermostat? Either way I reckon it's going to need a repairer.

How old is it, and how much does it bother you? I've certainly used ovens which have needed to be turned off at the socket for years...

I'm guessing it's about five or six years old. Yes it does bother me. I suspect also that the thermostat has gone and that it is just going to the maximum temperature.

I agree you definitely need the thermostat on an oven (and, we discovered, a fridge. We ended up with a new one).
