Chain advice

After some advice really as I'm getting so fed up with this chain.

We found out today that there's an additional property that's been added to the top of the chain. We don't even know this is the end of the chain or whether the people selling this property now need to find somewhere to move to.

We called the EA we are buying from to find out and they said they didn't have the details yet and only found out about it yesterday. So we have sent them off to get us more information but I suspect the EA has been lying to us all along and the chain was never complete.

We had originally been told that our vendors were moving to a vacant property but found out a month in that the people with the vacant property had decided to buy somewhere after all. So I don't know if this house is that same house and the chain was never complete months ago when they said it was, or if this house is an extra one after this.

We started this process back in February and lost three buyers along the way. I don't want to lose our current buyers because the chain on the other end is becoming ridiculously long and I'm wondering if we need to pull out and look for somewhere else.

DH reckons the process will be just as long if we find a new property. But I just don't trust the EA up the chain to give us a clear view of the chain and what's going on.

I'm also pregnant and wanted to be moved in well before my due date in January. We had been expecting an August completion but now that looks completely unlikely.

We are going to wait until we have a clearer picture of the chain but I'm not sure I trust them when they come back with that anyway since they may have lied to us before. I think they told us the chain was complete so we would spend money and feel committed.

Is this just normal and we would just have to wait and have similar amounts of nonsense with any house we tried to buy?

I'm also worried our buyers (and our) mortgage offers will expire if we wait too long. I really can't face losing another buyer!

I wouldn't pull out because if you find another property they may have an even longer chain!!
It's so stressful and frustrating (we are in a chain right now too)
But stick with it, it may take a long time but will be so worth it!
Is it your forever home?
I hope I never have to move house ever again haha x

My worry is that the chain may still not be complete and we may be waiting months for this person to find a house to go to and for the people they are buying from to as well, and where does it end?!

I feel tricked as we were told originally the chain was short because our vendors were buying an empty house. And now they have just changed their mind!

If we had know the chain wasn't complete we wouldn't have spent so much on the move so far.

I'd ring the agent directly at the top of the chain to find out the situation, if you know their details. Solicitors won't talk to you, but the ea might.
