We have been round the houses with the kitchen. Currently we have a kitchen/diner separated by a partial wall that cuts out much needed light from the (north facing ) garden. It's a load bearing wall that's going to be taken out and we also currently have an alcove that's full of the dishwasher/fridge/freezer that will be filled with cupboards and the oven.

The butler sink isn't necessarily staying. At the weekend I saw a Menerva worktop with a large stainless steel undermount sink that I really liked. So we've just got to number crunch and see how much more that would be than wood.

Do you like? We are looking to move in the next couple of years and trying to design a kitchen that would appeal to most 😬😬

The floor will be Kardean, the walls painted white. No tiles needed as there's only a small amount of wall on show.

Was just about to say my (serious) concern would be with the oven to worktop via walkway issue, especially if not particularly mobile or with young children around. Otherwise looks lovely, light and airy

We have a stairgate so I'm not personally concerned. But I can see for someone else it might be a worry. But then they could always put the door back on 😜

Would it not be quite cold having an opening into the garage. I thought garages weren't insulated to the same standards as a house.

The rest of the kitchen design is lovely.

I Wouldn't want the walkway between the surfaces and the oven, even with a door people can open it and walk into you, but I use my oven a lot and like to be able to put things down at the side.
Otherwise the layout is lovely - good number of cupboards!

Sorry I read that as you'd taken the door to the garage off but what you've done is taken a different door off and put it in the garage.

Ha ha yes sorry. I reread that myself and it read badly 😬

We are going to get hide and slide so at least it won't cause an obstruction when the oven door is open. We've found a compromise with the extractor too. We are going to box a slide extractor in to the ceiling. It won't be remote control but the ceilings are pretty low and both me and DP are tall enough to reach the controls. That will save us about £700!!
