Where can I get interior advice?

I have just brought my first house but I have zero creativity in me. I have some spaces in the house that are hard to work out what to do with. I need advice or a website to inspire me. I have been using pinerest but I keep searching for the same 'grey bedroom' I've also brought all the home magazines out there and again I keep going towards the grey

Does anyone have any advice on websites or people I can contact to help me out?

Live in the house for a bit to see how the light affects each room, then decide.

I would paint every room white or off white but not magnolia, and use accessories to inject colour. For example, you could buy inexpensive curtains or blinds and duvet set for your bedroom in a grey colour.

Houzz is pretty good. There are lots of interior design sites.

Unless you are rich, I'd avoid the magazines.

I love instagram for design inspiration.

If you want a grey bedroom, go for it. Don't worry about what others may like - it's your house and you can always change it if you hate it!

Start collecting images or pins of things that make you smile - then try to emulate them ?

Or bite the bullet and hire an interior designer - but check they don't just offer you their taste - the idea is to enhance yours !

What's your budget and what do you want to do? MN can help you!

Personally, if you aren't into decorating I'd avoid grey as it will be so dated so quickly. Everything is grey and has been for three years now.

Post some pics of things you like and we can help?

Personally I use Pinterest to stop me from madly mixing colours and styles. Every time I choose something for the house I base it on things in my boards.

If you do a search for "interior design sites" it will bring up lists of popular blogs and stuff.

My bedroom looks quite different depending on which duvet cover I am using. I alternate bright primary colour patterns, stripes, plain grey and some vintage patterns. Walls and curtains are neutral.

Living room is neutral but with quirky throws or different cushion covers as the mood takes me.

If you have a stack of magazines, create a moodboard. Ooh I wish I had a new house to decorate.
