I'm open to other suggestions too though!

What colour is the fabric of the building? If you like the paint color that's the main thing!

Gingernaut · 23/07/2017 13:34

There's nothing wrong with it.

It's meant for exterior woodwork and I think it's a lovely colour.

If you like it and you're not in a conservation area where things like this are restricted, why not?

AnonymousTomato · 23/07/2017 13:37

Oh, I am in a conservation area! Better check the regulations...

Hm the exterior of the building is regular brick colour so it might clash. I might go with a more duck egg blue then.

I've had a look at ten conservation area documents and it's more focused on the actual shape of the buildings and the only reference to painting was regarding repointing and painting brickwork

I like it, but I have a peony pink front door.

I think it would look lovely if your house is built of yellow bricks, but not so much if it's red bricks. Green is kinder to red bricks.

Mothervulva · 23/07/2017 14:18

That's a good point about the colour of the bricks. I have yellow bricks. Maybe duck egg is nicer with red.

The pink is lovely - our house is stone-faced (kind of grubby beige) & pink would look lovely!

Standard colours for new composite doors now include pale green ('Chartwell') & blue, plus grey & cream, but they haven't yet gone any further off-piste. Googling found this site though - they have quite a wild range

Lots of companies will make composite doors to any RAL colour - if you ask, they have colour books with hundreds in.
