Contacting Builder

Is it unreasonable to contact our builder at 6.15 on a Friday evening or Saturday morning?
He is supposed to be starting work on our garage conversion on Thursday - we go on holiday early hours of Tuesday and at 6 oclock last night I got a call from the electric grid people to say they were having to delay their bit of the work - he needs to know this!. I've had trouble contacting him all along, I know he's busy, but it's stressing me out.

Yanbu. Most have a work phone they can switch off / set to silent if they dont want to be disturbed - leave a voicemail.
Or if you have his mobile number sending a text may be less intrusive.

Tried text and email - nothing back!

Oh blimey if he's not contacting you before he's even started I would be careful!
Ours was brilliant at comms before the job!
He's been bloody awful while he's doing it!

Those are perfectly acceptable times, especially to give information (rather than demand that he comes and does something NOW). 11:30pm on a weeknight is not an acceptable time glares at clients
