Home office style inspiration?

Hello, I'm looking into getting fitted furniture put into our study/office at the moment because it is such a mess currently and we'd like lots more storage for books especially.

I have a design in mind in terms of layout but am struggling with colours and materials. The range is similar to a fitted bedroom range.

Has anyone got or seen a fitted home office or just great ideas that looks lovely that they could share with me please?

House is traditional 20s/30s style with high ceilings/picture rails but decor is generally, ooh modern cottagy? Quite warm. Though I am wondering if this room should be fairly sleek and modern? Confused!

Thanks in advance.

What I normally suggest to clients who aren't sure of their 'style' is to go on 'study interiors' on Pinterest or Houzz and set yourself a time limit ( say 15mins) then pin /save as many pics that you like the look of instantly - don't over think it - save it if you like it move on - then after times up - look through what you saved - then a theme usually become apparent ... then, a bit like when you do 'ip dip' or other kids choosing rhymes - if you think it's wrong it's because deep down you do know what your preference is after all !!
Either way - the style that works for you usually comes out !!

Thank you, that sounds like an excellent approach! I might have to get DH to look only at the ones I like!

We have just re furnished our study in Ikea. A mix of malm, kallax and another range I've forgotten name of. I would recommend a visit

If you're off to IKEA Billy for books and look at the Alex drawers - they're fab

We have a JL freestanding desk, drawer unit & 3 x shelves now. That's what I want to get rid of and get built in instead to make better use of the space & make it much more sleek & tidy.

I did the picking thing on Houzz and realised I favoured white and bright. DH didn't like my choices. He'd envisaged some sort of wooden number.
